1. Local groups have formed deer task forces to build solid bases on which to dislodge the lethal methods. Here is an excerpt from the amazing activist Janet Piszar of Milburn, New Jersey, where all of sharpshooting, bow-hunting and the captive bolt have been used as "deer control" measures:

Here in Millburn, NJ , we are working on a real uprising. It is a very long story....to abbreviate, we are planning a Citizens Deer Management Task Force, to draw a contrast to the closed, contrived, biased Township Committee appointed one.

We are collecting and reporting data on Auto-Deer Collisions and demonstrating the hot spots that are still unprotected. We have underway a Lyme Disease research project from a 10 mile radius of Millburn AND information coming from the County Epidemiologist office that will demonstrate how Millburn LIED about Lyme Disease. We will go to the County Road Dept. and bring NEW possibilities of nonlethal deer management: variable message signs to alert drivers in Oct/Nov, new signage in hotspots with custom alerts. We will not be excluded but will take the solitary control from the township's committee. We can put out press releases and keep our efforts in the public eye.

Would love to have DOE come to Millburn to demonstrate all the nonlethal deer management available......in contrast to their exclusive pro-kill methods that are a proven failure.

2. The pro-deer activists are not just sitting there statically, but are launching an aggressive outreach campaign to combat the lethal syndrome that has spread and is spreading across the land.

Anthony Marr, founder of the Vancouver-based Heal Our Planet Earth (HOPE - see www.HOPE-CARE.org and www.MySpace.com/AnthonyMarr) will launch in July his 5th Compassion for Animals Road Expedition (CARE-5 - see www.HOPE-CARE.org) dedicated to the brutalized urban-deer populations in numerous "towns without pity" (as well as the whales, dolphins and seals - see the deer, whale, dolphin and seal sections of www.HOPE-CARE.org).

Not only has Anthony Marr been instrumental in formulating the Non-Violent Integrated Human-Deer Co-Existence Solutions, he is also the inventor of the amazing Deer Auto-Conveyer (DAC - see Deer section of www.HOPE-CARE.org), which is a revolutionary departure from even the extant non-lethal solutions. By the time Anthony Marr bids farewell to a community, if CARE-5's objective is achieved for that community, there will be a Non-Violent Integrated Human-Deer Co-Existence Solution co-designed with local activists specifically for that community, one including a DAC if physically possible.
