Can you tell me what happens at your church services?

And are dogs allowed?

Dear Ami:

We retired from church ministry several years ago, but during the many years we did have church services, we always allowed animals into the church.

One time while serving as a guest pastor at another church, the neighbor’s cat, Pandy, came into the church, and I encouraged them to allow her to attend the service with us, which they did, and she spent the whole time on the altar. During the children’s sermon, I picked up Pandy and held her in my arms the whole time, as a way of expressing the way God loves us.

We also had companion animals on our prayer list with the humans, and they often attended funeral services for their human guardians. We also had services for the animals when they died.
