From The Mary T. and
Frank L. Hoffman
Dear Frank and Mary,
Thank you so much, it is good to hear from you and learn from you as well. As a pastor and serving in the Lord service there are some questions I would like you to help me with:
(1) Why is your ministry a free meat zone?
(2) Is it illegal to eat meat?
Reply from Frank and Mary Hoffman
Dear Pastor William:
In our ministry, we advocate the non-exploitation of animals for reasons of compassion, and for the spiritual well being of the humans we minister to. God wants us to have loving, compassionate, and peacemaking spirit. He wants us to have a soft heart. For example, for a person to kill and eat an animal it requires them to harden their heart so that they no longer have empathy for the pain and suffering of the animal. And the more a person engages in such activity, or hires someone else to do the killing for them, the harder their heart becomes, which is against the will of God.
It is not illegal to eat meat; it is part of the concession God granted human beings because of their hardness of heart, in the hopes that it will lead them back to living in His heavenly will. But how much better it is to live in His heavenly will all the time.
We hope this helps.
We look forward to hearing from you again.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
