Letter from Angel Trying to Justify Eating Animals, 2 - 15 Nov 2009

In reality, plants are living organisms that have life. They have cells and metabolic reactions very similar to ours. Having that said, killing a plant would be the same as killing an animal. The Bible is based on faith, and no science existed when it was written. The truth found in the Bible is simply faith. Every other story makes no sense with the use of modern rationalism and science. Human beings have figured out that the world is not flat anymore and gravity is caused by the earth's intermolecular forces. Thereby, why should we use the Bible as a source of reference when speaking about meat consumption? I hope I have made myself clear this time. Lets go with the one dollar phrase "In God we Trust." (A phrase that makes no sense when we're killing thousands of soldiers in Iraq) A new type of capitalism in the US is what you're promoting: "hi guys lets buy organic foods." Gosh, again don't use God's name when you're indirectly promoting capitalism. Thank you.

Dear Angel:

You seem to be a lot more intelligent that your response indicates. You know perfectly well that plants feel no pain, and that animals suffer pain the same way we do.

If you want to continue to contribute to the suffering of animals, we can't stop you, but please don't misuse the Bible to try to justify it. Just take a look at Proverbs 12:10 and see what the Bible says about people like you.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
