ON page 1 of the Whittlesea Leader (October 12), there is a list of the recent cruel attacks on animals. As the heading correctly states, they were ‘‘brutal’’ and ‘‘senseless’’.
On page 11, however, children are actually being encouraged to partake in other brutal and senseless attacks on animals.
I’m referring to the Kids Come and Try Fishing Day. Fish feel pain in the same way as a dog or us. How can we ever expect animal cruelty to decrease when children are being taught that it is fun to torture fish?
