Letter from Michelle Ahmad about Mourning the Loss of Companion Animals
17 Feb 2004

I just wanted to say something to Alan N. Finkelstein, my mom lost her cat Katie about 5 months ago. I am very close to the cat. My family and I are animal lovers.

There is not a day that goes by when I don’t grieve for Katie. Also, when I was little I lost a few cats and still grieve for them and that’s been over 10 years. I am now 21 years old. I always try to get over the whole thing, but I can't. I hate sharing my stories with people who hate animals because they don’t even know how bad it hurts to loose a pet.

I hope you feel better and please write me back

Sincerely,

Michelle Ahmed
