Luke 21:28 (NKJV)

28. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Many Christians are struggling with the increasing evil that is happening in the world.   This awareness is causing a real hopelessness and fear that casts a dark shadow over the hearts and minds of sincere and faith walking believers.  Why are Christians afraid?

God says in Hosea 4:6

6.“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Our enemy destroys God’s anointed with lies, but this can only happen if we accept those lies. It is true that horrible things will happen in the last days as shown in the following scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 ESV

“But understand this, in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

Ephesians 6:12 ESV

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

It is with certainty that God reveals the coming times, and He does so for the purpose of revealing His almighty power and authority. He gives us hope in the fact that all will happen according to His will whether He allows or makes it happen.  He details the events that will occur before His coming and it is brutal. Just look around you; this is what God said would happen.  Now look up and see our future as Christians and receive the promises of God.  We need to ready ourselves in the light and hope of God.

Matthew 24:44 ESV

44. “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Being prepared is about peace.

Isaiah 26:3

3. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Focusing on God keeps our eyes on truth and we will not be misled by the frightening things that are happening around us.  It is up to us to stay in peace and that is only if we keep our minds on God.

Challenge: Look up all the promises of God being near us, giving us peace, etc. and meditate on these verses.

God bless,

Marni

lamb-rightThe purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
