Food for ThoughtPsalm 105:4 Seek God

An all-creatures.org Guide to Kingdom Living. True Christian living requires us to live according to Kingdom standards which bring Heaven to earth

Psalm 105:4 New American Standard Bible

4. Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually.

 Many people seek God only when they are desperate or when it’s convenient.  This kind of pursuit of God is not relational; It is superficial.

God desires closeness; that is why He took the first step toward us when he died on the cross. This  opened the doors of heaven for us; it is up to us to take the second step toward Him. When we are not seeking God continually we are living our life without Him and behaving like orphaned children.   We become entangled in the world’s agenda and quickly forget that God is still there; He is still watching over us and He desires intimacy.

There is no such thing as a balance between seeking God and living in the world.  We must be solely focused on the Lord so that everything we say and do is a reflection of His love and wisdom.

As spirit beings,  we can partake in God’s plans,  but it all begins with us seeking Him daily.  Once we have given our life to Christ, our hearts become rooted and grounded in His love as we spend time in His word and in His presence absorbing His goodness and allowing Him to change and heal us.

The eyes of our hearts must be steadfast upon the Lord so that we do not veer off into places we don’t belong; places that could steer us away from God and the plans He has for us.

One of our greatest challenges is to remain focused on the Lord while we navigate through the temptations and misguided beliefs of this world.

Jesus prayed for us to be one with Him and the Father because that is what He truly wanted.

John 17:21 Common English Bible

21. I pray they will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. I pray that they also will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.

The more we draw near to God and keep ourselves aligned with Him, the more we are able to resist evil and walk in true faith.   Seeking God gives us more than we could imagine. He is the only way we will be able to walk in our calling and anointing with certainty and confidence.  It is there we will find the guidance we need to walk on the path He made for each of us. He created us to succeed, but only in the parameters of His grace and wisdom.

Challenge:  Talk to God now. Don’t wait until you think you need to.

God bless

lamb-rightThe purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
