Christian LivingKeys to the Kingdom – 1. Introduction
A Christian Living Article from All-Creatures.org Guide to Kingdom Living

True Christian living requires us to live according to Kingdom standards which bring Heaven to earth.

FROM Dr. Joyce of The Caring Heart Spokane, WA

“Jesus traveled around through all the cities and villages of that area, teaching in the Jewish synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom.” (Matt. 9:35).

The Kingdom of Heaven, or the Kingdom of God (interchangeable terms), should be of supreme importance to each individual Christian person, as well as to Christ’s church as a whole. Christ was extremely excited about the Kingdom and wanted everyone to know about it! When Jesus initially commissioned His twelve disciples, His instructions began with the admonition to go and announce to people that the Kingdom of Heaven is near (Matt. 10:7). Much of Jesus’ teaching involved explanations and descriptions of this ethereal Kingdom, often presented in parable form. Jesus maintained that the incalculable wonderfulness of this Kingdom would send men scrambling to sell all that they have in order to obtain it.

A person’s first Christian experience is of being saved as a result of accepting Jesus as his or her Lord and Savior. After being saved, or “born again,” the Christian’s all-encompassing quest is to “seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matt. 6:13).

Notice the terminology Christ used. He spoke of the Kingdom as being “at hand.” It is “now.” It is not only some place Christians go after they die, far away, and in the future. It is here, it is now, and it can and absolutely should be sought and obtained. The Kingdom is the residence of those who are truly holy and spiritually mature. It is the true birthright of the children of the Father. It is the greatest gift, and the greatest life, that He has promised us. Indeed, most of the teachings of Christ and his followers can be thought of as instructions on how to get into and how to abide in the Kingdom.

Kingdom living is for now, and it’s truly wonderful. Persevere!! Don’t stop short in your growth! Don’t miss it!!
