A Christian Living Article from All-Creatures.org Guide to Kingdom Living

True Christian living requires us to live according to Kingdom standards which bring Heaven to earth.

FROM Frank L. Hoffman, all-creatures

In the Creation story of Genesis 1 and 2, we see a paradise with everything that any living being could ever want. There is no death or destruction. There is only perfect peace and fellowship between all of God’s created beings, at least up until the time of the Fall.

If we now jump ahead, we see that the same kind of peaceful living exists in the spiritual realm of heaven.

Revelation 21:4

4 and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."

NASB

Since the whole of the physical creation was spoken into existence from the spiritual heavenly realm which reflects God’s intent, we know why God looked back upon everything He made and said that it was “very good.”

And Isaiah paints us a beautiful picture of the peaceful kingdom of God’s intent.

Isaiah 11:6-9

6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the kid, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them.

7 Also the cow and the bear will graze; Their young will lie down together; And the lion will eat straw like the ox.

8 And the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.

9 They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.

NASB

Most churches teach that this passage describes some future time when Jesus rules the earth, and thus they do nothing, and even help make the present corruption worse.

But we join with the Jewish sages who believe that this is the time we should be working to achieve in the here and now, for it helps to usher in Messiah, or His return as Christians believe.

Jesus said:

Matthew 5:48

48 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

NASB

And He goes on to teach us to pray:

Matthew 6:10

10'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

NASB

Why is it so hard for most Christians to understand that this is part of God’s intent?

Why is it so hard for most Christians to understand that if there is no death in heaven, we should strive to have no death on earth?

Why is it so hard for most Christians to understand that the brutal treatment and killing of 10 billion land animals in this country every year is against God’s will?

It’s because we are not as filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as most people believe they are.

This is why we are dedicated to helping people understand God’s intent for their lives.
