Pussy Willow (Salix discolor) - 12
(Pussy Willow (Salix discolor) - 12) In the top center of the this photo we
can see one of the swollen ovaries of the pussy willow with the silken hairs
just beginning to project out the top. When the seeds are mature the ovaries
open to allow the seeds to be carried away in the wind.
