(Katydid Grasshoppers (Tettigoniidae) - 05) Katydid is a general name given to
several species of American large green long-horned grasshoppers. Technically,
katydids are not grasshoppers, but are more related to crickets. The male
katydids have stridulating organs on the forewings that produce a loud shrill
sound.
