Surfing through life, when life is dull;
Teenagers in love; with life and potential mates
And more potential mates; this one, maybe that one.
Oh no, they have flaws, maybe the next one.
Happiness doesn't grow on trees; too old to climb them.
Building the ladder they will scale upward to success.
The future, so full of promise, that promises are made;
Dreams are inflated, both to be broken through disappointments.
Hope springs infernal, with each task requiring labor,
Requiring effort, that is not handed to them on a silver platter
Or manipulated by a video game controller; pause;
Never to unpause; never to rewind; plodding forward
Until...game over!
