Autumn rising

Autumn rising
Within me
Plump, ochre
Amber sweetness

It carves the way
Of what is
To come

Winter, beautiful
Frost bejewelled finery
Trees skeletal that
Beckon, blackened watchers

This world rolls forward
I see you all, in wake of evening fields
Hot breath
Shuffle
Woollen observers

Movement soft

I step slowly
The hush – magnetic
The scene rippling
With scent and wilding call

Autumn rises in us all
Species alike
Akin to earth
To kin
To blood and bone

We feel it
We share seasons rolling
A journey
An ache for peace

Our story as yet undone
Of ripe beginning
Of flicker of hope
And healing

To all - lost souls

title, sheep, and autumn leaves
