I Love Cats
By Genie Graveline
An Animal Rights Poem from All-Creatures.org

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

I Love Cats
By Genie Graveline

Some consider them "finicky felines"
With strange, unpredictable ways,
Carelessly coughing up furballs
As they wander through life in a daze.

Such people would not care to own one,
In fact they'd be quick to say "scat,"
And not in their wildest of moments
Would they give up their home to a cat.

But others, LIKE ME, find enjoyment
In their cool, independent stride,
And we're flattered if they choose to visit
A minute or two by our side.

It doesn't take much to amuse them,
A string or some fingers will do,
And you don't have to walk them in rainstorms,
They simplify matters for you!
