Palatable Euphemisms
By Ginny Mikita
An Animal Rights Poem from All-Creatures.org

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

Palatable Euphemisms
By Ginny Mikita

Skin scorched, horns severed, testicles slashed; crowded feedlots
BEEF. IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER.

Environmental indifference

Beaks seared, bones crushed, feet skewered; darkened sheds (20,000 per)
The Incredible Edible Egg.

Anthropomorphic insouciance

Lungs ammonia-clogged, tails amputated, legs deformed; ?iron maidens?
PORK. THE OTHER WHITE MEAT. Don't be blah.

Brutal impudence

Necks chained, flesh anemic, stomachs ulcered; cramped, solitary crates
VEAL. EAT SMART. EAT WELL.

Discriminate reverence
