All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize.
This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.
She watched them string
her child up
this came before the cutting
of the throat
and the disembowelment.
They peeled away
the child's skin too
as if they wanted
to make a rug out of her.
They didn't quite figure
why the mother
was so distraught
pining away her child
until she, too,
died of a broken heart
barely 2 weeks on.
And you're reading this
as if I'm talking
about somebody's child
and not just some
dumb
bloody cow
who had feelings
like we do.
