THE MAIN COURSE
by Susan Rodgers

An unpleasant odor floods the air tonight,
The men are at work, the beast is in fright,
Does anyone hear their pitiful plight?
The slaughter is happening as I speak,
It breaks my heart, my legs go weak....
How do the murderers have peace of mind...
Stand up and be counted! you despicable kind!
You are not making a living you are making an end!
Wipe the blood from your criminal hands!!
How can you kill the friends that graze on our land!
This mass murder of life must cease!
There is a better existence for these creatures of ours,
That greedy man kills and repeatedly devours!
You fry their blood and enjoy the taste!
Would you like it as much if it were splashed on your face!!??
