When the World Has Remembered

When the World Has Remembered

When you walk across the evergreen and fields of golden
With frogs jumping over your feet
And your mind set on purity, your heart on fire,

Then the pebbled path and Grandfather stone will lead you,
And all the arms that reach for sunlit skies
Will breathe for you,
And the four-legged and six-legged-ones will walk with you
Despite your past, despite your wayward heart,
Then, and only then.

Once you politely remove your shoes and leave your head
They’ll gather ’round
And brush the dust from your weary soul
