MANKIND?
by Jenny Moxham

If you were not a human,

You would think the word 'mankind',

Was a very inappropriate description,

Of the one who kills so many,

Just for food or fun or fad,

And causes them such anguish and affliction.

I'm sure you'd think 'mancruel',

Was a far more fitting word,

To describe the one who thinks he has the right,

To harm and hurt all creatures,

Who don't possess his features,

And can't protest against their woeful plight.
