Prayers of Compassion from All-Creatures.org
Saturday night, July 26, 2025, Closing of V-Cop 22
By Tams Nicholson
Hello, friends. My name is Tams Nicholson, and I’m the Executive Director of All-Creatures.org. We’re a faith-based ethical vegan organization that’s been working since 1998 to create a peaceful world for all beings through education, advocacy, and spiritual awakening. It’s an honor to be with you tonight as we close in compassion and deep commitment to nonviolence.
Centering (Approx. 90 seconds)
(Speaking slowly and gently; inviting a moment of shared presence.)
Let us begin by arriving together in this moment—wherever we are, let us be fully here.
Close your eyes if you feel safe to do so.
Feel the earth beneath you. Let it hold you.
Allow your shoulders to soften. Let your breath deepen.
Inhale peace.
Exhale all that no longer serves.
Now, bring to your mind’s eye an creature—perhaps one you’ve met, or one who represents the millions we hold in our hearts. See them free. See them safe. See them loved.
Inhale their innocence.
Exhale your devotion to their protection.
Now imagine all of us—this global circle—linked by an unbreakable bond of compassion.
We are one body, breathing as one heart, moving as one voice for justice.
Let us enter into prayer.
Closing Prayer (Approx. 3 minutes)
Loving Source of all Life—
We come before You in reverence,
hearts cracked open by the suffering in our world,
and hearts ablaze with the fire of transformation.
We lift up this gathering—this sacred assembly of peacemakers,
visionaries, and truth-bearers who have dared to believe
that a world of nonviolence is not only possible,
but inevitable—when love leads.
Bless every heart present here.
Bless the courage it takes to face the truth.
Bless the pain we’ve witnessed, and the hope we’ve held onto.
May we never again look away from suffering,
but instead, let it shape us into healers.
May we walk as kin with all beings—feathered, furred, finned, scaled, and those only with skin.
May we remember that the cry of the oppressed—whether human or non-human—
is the voice of God pleading through time.
Let our activism be prayer in motion.
Let our compassion be contagious.
Let our love be fierce and unstoppable.
For the forests breathing,
for the oceans singing,
for the creatures waiting,
and for the children hoping—
We vow again, with humble hearts, to live the nonviolence we seek.
To embody the peace we preach.
To dismantle the systems of harm through unwavering love.
We go forth not alone,
but as a great, awakening chorus of conscience.
Amen.
So may it be.
Let love lead us home.
