Hope Animal Sanctuary (HAS)
June 2014

Rachael's family moved, irresponsibly leaving the animals behind to fend for themselves. Little Rachael was able to slip between the barbwired fence and forage for food.

Rachel Emma rescued horsesRachael and her new baby Emma will be looking for homes once Emma has matured a little more.

Rachael was one of five equines and three dogs IDA’s Hope Animal Sanctuary (HAS) rescued through our partnership with the Tallahatchie County Sheriff's Department.

Rachael's family moved, irresponsibly leaving the animals behind to fend for themselves. Little Rachael was able to slip between the barbwired fence and forage for food.

Our staff at HAS made several trips to the property before she was located and we were able to rescue her. On her foraging trips she clearly engaged with the handsome stallion next door. She appeared to be a bit rounder than a Shetland pony normally is.

Emma was born Friday, May 30th. She is perfectly healthy, absolutely adorable, and has actually helped calm her mom down, who at times has let us groom her for as long as wished and at other times has rebuffed any affection.

HAS is grateful to have the pair in our care and they are well loved by all our staff.
