If social movement history has taught us anything, it’s that repression, if properly managed, can backfire. You can help us make that happen by taking action for animals in whatever way most inspires you.

The year is not even over yet. We have a key court date coming up on
Friday to challenge DxE investigator Zoe Rosenberg’s court-ordered
GPS monitor - more on that tomorrow - and every day, we get closer
to the number of signatures required to qualify our Sonoma County
factory farm ban ballot measure.
The positive press keeps coming, too. We were honored to be featured
in The New Yorker in a compelling article that asks the critical
question “What would it mean to treat animals fairly?” Through the
story of our Smithfield Trial victory, journalist Elizabeth Barber
shows that many ordinary people might reject the notion that animals
are just property.
Despite all these victories, we also faced some significant
challenges this year, including the Sonoma Trial loss that led to
the incarceration of DxE co-founder Wayne Hsiung. But if social
movement history has taught us anything, it’s that repression, if
properly managed, can backfire. You can help us make that happen by
taking action for animals in whatever way most inspires you.
