Life has blessed me so much to be surrounded by so much joy. Nothing beats someone rescued from dire straights loving their life.
Six years ago this weekend I moved to a 45 acre rural property with Animal Liberation Victoria/strong's 35 rescued animals who shared my home in Elwood. I lived in that big old house for 36 years and started ALV’s urban farmed animals sanctuary there in 1986.
I took
in hundreds of hens, ‘broiler’ chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese,
dogs, cats, pigeons, rabbits, lambs, sheep, goats, pigs, calves (the
council was usually supportive) over the years. Many kind volunteers
were always around to help.
TThe first photo below was a happy vegan roast dinner we had last
night, but I was too tired to remember it was the 6th anniversary of
moving the Sanctuary from a quarter acre to 45 acres!
The second photo was taken six years ago, the day we brought dear Prince and Lulu to green paddocks with 33 other animals.
Now Liberation Sanctuary has almost 100 beloved animal family
members living here. Sadly dear Prince died in 2019 but sweet Lulu
(who has been with me since she was 3 months old) is still going
strong. She turned 13 in January. Life has blessed me so much to be
surrounded by so much joy. Nothing beats someone rescued from dire
straights loving their life ❤
