I met Karen in 2013 when I clumsily hosted my own vegan advocacy table with no real plan and was lucky enough to land nestled between her table and Suzanne’s Vegan Spirituality table (lucky me!). Karen wasted no time in sharing her passion and adopting me into the fold of vegan activism. Every time I see her, I’m struck by her energy, enthusiasm, and authenticity. Whether she’s running a conference to educate and influence others to see the vegan light or lobbying for animal rights in Pennsylvania and beyond, her devotion to do right by animals shines. Unapologetically, Karen insists that we recognize animals as fellow beings deserving of rights, respect, care, and love. I couldn’t agree more. Please use the links to watch Suzanne’s interview with Karen, attend her upcoming Compassion for Animals & Environment Conference (Suzanne and I will be there!), and take action on the political front through PA Voters for Animals.

More about Karen: She is the co-founder and Board Treasurer of PA Voters for Animals. She earned a Certificate in Canine Management and Training from Kutztown University, and is a volunteer dog handler at the Bucks County SPCA and also volunteers as an animal foster parent and animal transporter for several local animal organizations.

As if that were not enough, Karen also serves as a volunteer as the Humane World for Animals PA Education Training Coordinator and received the HSUS PA Deputy District Volunteer Leader Award. She is the founder of the Peaceable Kingdom Conference (now knows as Compassion for Animals and Environment), Bucks County’s only animal conference.
