Tell Youth the Truth

Anti-abortionist asks, "Why care about animals?"

How does a vegan answer the anti-abortionist that demands to know why we waste time on trying to save animals instead of fetuses?

Everything we do to animals comes back to us in some form. People are animals too.

Showing compassion towards fetuses means being honest with them when they grow up. Honest talk about things like their health, namely the diseases which are commonly prevented, consistently improved, and sometimes cured by a vegan diet including but not limited too: Strokes, Heart disease, Osteoporosis, Kidney Stones, Colon cancer, Prostate cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Ovarian cancer, Cervical cancer, Stomach cancer, Endometrial cancer, Breast cancer, Hypoglycemia, Diabetes, Kidney disease, Peptic ulcers, Constipation, Hemorrhoids, Hiatal hernias, Diverticulosis, Obesity, Gallstones, Hypertension, Asthma, Salmonellosis, Trichinosis, Irritable colon syndrome, and CJD (human variant of Mad Cow).

It is shortsighted to save fetuses just to ignore them when they grow up.

Caring about animals strikes at the root causes of most of our problems.

Vegans care about all life, not just human life. Respectful people do not pick or choose what or whom to respect. Vegans respect all animals--including grown-up anti-abortionist fetuses and grown-up pro-choice fetuses and the children and the world we plan on leaving them.
