Praying Mantis (Mantis religiosa) - Evelyn Giefer sent us this praying mantis photo with the following comment: "Here is a picture of another wonderful creature photographed in my backyard. As I watched, he/she moved his back legs up to his mouth and groomed them one at a time. I was so close I could see his eyes and mouth parts moving! It was a moment of sheer wonder." Note the length of the praying mantis' right antenna, which is longer that the rest of his body.
