Dear Mr. Coombs,On September 18, 2002, my wife Tammy and I, put down our 10 +1/2 yr old springer spaniel "Ticker". He had been suffering with a debilitating back injury for the last 5 weeks. The Vet told us there was nothing more he could do for ticker. He had been in great pain. So we made the decision to put him to sleep. Gripped with feelings of deep pain & guilt (Is there anything more we could have done ??) I tried to find solace or some sense of meaning to ticker's death. We are Christians, but we're taught that animals don't have spirits. (I'm not even sure where I heard that.) Family & friends offer support but not the answers to the questions of eternity, and God's ultimate plan. It's only been 3 Days since he's gone, but I found great comfort in your work that I read online. I believe God directed me to see this, as it has been the only thing that has given us a sense of peace. I realized after reading it, that God loved Ticker even more than we did!! Thank you for your research in this subject & many blessing to your continued efforts.
Sincerely,
Chris

Dear Tammy and Chris:
Thank you for your very welcome and heart feeling e-mail – firstly you did the right thing, especially as “Ticker” is now having a lovely pain free sleep waiting for you to be resurrected when our Lord soon returns. At that time you will be all given your new heavenly bodies never to die again. (What a wonderful happy reunion that will be, and if you soon get another puppy from an animal rescue home he/she will give you more love and the new puppy will also be added to your Heavenly family to help you with your Heavenly assignments). I prove this statement from the Pure Holy Scriptures in Part 4 of my book which is not yet completed.
Philippians 1:21 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain”.
Ecclesiastes 7:1 “A good name (with the Lord) is better than precious ointment; and the day of death (is better) than the day of one’s birth”.
The whole chapter is well worth a reread.
For those people that teach you the reprehensible doctrine that animals and other creatures do not have spirits – tell them to go and read Frank Hoffman’s wonderful book “All Creatures here below” it’s on all-creatures.org under book. Especially chapters 4 and 5.
I will advise you when Frank (Who hosts my site) publishes part 4 of my book.
Why don’t you send an e-mail to other readers who have lost pets it will help you both? it’s under “readers comments” on all-creatures.org/ach your e-mail will soon be up there.
In Jesus’ name:
Bernie J. Coombs.
