Cruelty on 'Steve Harvey's Big Challenge'

On Jan. 16, the Steve Harvey 'Bigtime Challenge' show (WB Ch 11, 9 - 10 pm in NYC, check local listings for time, station, etc) one contestant brought on appx 10 parrots.  He placed one parrot on the end of a stick - then violently spun the stick around and around in a 360 degree circle, while the parrot struggled to hold on.

He then had Steve Harvey hold one end of a rope, while he held the other.  He put a parrot in the middle of the rope; he then spun the rope in a large, sweeping jump-rope motion, while the parrot hung on for dear life, spinning upside down.

The moron panel of judges announced this filth wasn't cruel because '...a macaw won't do anything unless he trusts you' so they enthusiastically endorsed him.

Not only was this act indeed cruel; but it sends a terrible message of what acceptable treatment of animals is.  This show has been cited on this list before as well.

Contact WB11 via their website: www.wb11.com, click 'contact us.' If anyone can visit their office, it's located at 220 E 42 st., (212) 949-1100 takes phone complaints.

Also please contact the American Humane Association, which is 'mandated' to stop animal cruelty in movies and on tv. (they actually receive money for this task that they perform poorly).
