Animal Defenders of Westchester
P.O. Box 205
Yonkers, NY 10704

For the second year in a row, Yonkers children calling themselves 'Kids for Cats' will hold a bake sale on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m at the corner of Roberts Avenue and Valley Avenue near North Broadway, Yonkers, to benefit stray animals in the area. They are seeking donations of baked goods and funds to assist with this effort.

The funds raised go toward low-cost spay/neuter certificates provided by the Animal Welfare League (914) 948-2094. Two of the children have veterinary aspirations, and there are wildlife rehabbers in the family as well.

The children had been feeding stray animals in the area, and realized that the cat colonies multiply rapidly unless the animals are neutered; they have commenced a TNR program. One of the cats is in need of ear surgery as well.
