A rat's life

NY Daily News
Published June 24, 2001

Once again, the animals lose for the sake of a game show. On "Fear Factor," rats were put on a contestant who 'braved' their presence to win a prize. Another contestant referred to their 'stink' and called them 'bastards.'

Rats are very clean, intelligent little beings, and these were specially bred rats (no, NBC didn't comb the sewers to find them). Rather than beings bastards, they were shipped out for gruesome lab testing as soon as NBC was done with them.
