Avoid products that use animal testing PUBLISHED IN THE JOURNAL NEWS, NOV. 12, 2002 Recently, Americans were shocked and sickened to see horrific video
footage of chemical experiments inflicted on dogs by al-Qaida terrorists;
yet identical experiments are routinely done in this country daily, by
manufacturers of most personal care products. Unless you see a 'No Animal Testing' label on your detergent, it was
poured into a dog's eyes before being placed on the store shelf; your
deodorant was poured into open wounds on dogs, guinea pigs and other living,
breathing non-human animals who feel pain and fear identical to human
animals. Some manufacturers will state these tests are required by the Food
and Drug Administration; they are not. This testing occurs solely to limit
product liability and lawsuits. Please request cruelty-free items be stocked at your local supermarkets
if they aren't there now. They are easily available at health-food stores.
We can get the internet on a cell-phone now; technology exists to replace
archaic animal testing. If you continue using products without such a
sticker, know that a lonely dog in a lab has been choked with aerosols,
tortured and maimed repeatedly to bring the product to you. For further
