Animal-abuse reaction of some 'sickening'

Re: "Some KFC diners find chicken abuses distasteful,"
July 22 news story:
Westchesterites have hit a new low in the selfishness
department. To hear that customers are not swayed by PETA's heart-wrenching
video of chickens being thrown around and stomped on by frustrated factory
workers is sickening.
Worse, some of the comments border on blatant
stupidity.
One man said, "They're all going to die anyway," so he
didn't care how the workers treated the chickens, while an Elmsford woman
"felt bad" but wasn't going to worry because "what you can't see won't hurt
you"!
What about other things besides "you" and what "you
want"?
What about compassion and the suffering of the animals
that occurs whether you see it or not, but occurs because you continue to
support it?
This article was a real wake-up call. If these KFC
customers are any indication of the larger population of this county,
Westchesterites' attitudes are no better than those of Germans who looked
the other way during WWII since what they couldn't see wouldn't hurt them.
