Anti-Bowhunting Campaign Congratulations! I was very glad to hear that your anti-bow hunting campaign was a
success. I have been hoping to find someone who succeeded and ask them where
to start. I live in an area that is considered rural country even though the
majority of the area is urban sprawl now.The hunting laws have not been
changed even though the demographics of the area have. Our county has the
100 yard rule. This law states if your dwelling is 100yds away from another
home you can bow hunt on the property. I was planning on using the Public
Safety Issue and try to get bow hunting banned. One question I want to ask you is, if there has never been an accident
reported can you base the safety issue on What ifs? Will examples of what
happened in other communities work? I want to prevent it before it happens. Any information on what to do and
what not to do would be appreciated. Also, do you have any information on a good strategy that might work to
stop deer culling, using the compound bow? This is a popular management tool
in my state that needs to be stopped. I thought having a website showing
hunting footage so people could see that it is cruel treatment would be a
good way to get public awareness. Do you know of any organization that might have a hunting video? I asked
the HUSA but they didn't know of anyone to contact. Thank you for any information you have. Sherry St. Charles, Illinois

Hi Sherry, Thank you so much for your kind note. I am forwarding to you a copy of
the Notice that was served on Westchester County, along with the flyer,
which should include contact information of your local legislators,
councilpersons, etc. I feel the flyer is an important adjunct to creating
awareness of the Notice. Call city hall to find out how to serve legal
notice in your area. Consider doing a press release when the Notice is
filed, as well. For additional information about hunting accidents you might contact the
Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting,

; they have a great deal of information, statistics, etc., on this
subject. Best luck in your efforts! Kiley Blackman Fair Use Notice: This document may contain
