Dear Ellie,

Thank you so very much for your kind words about my letter, and expressing your support.  No, I haven't received any hate mail from it, though I do get some in general (I have a small animal protection group) so hearing something positive always helps.

This was such a terrible story that haunts me still...hopefully this animal's suffering will lead to good changes in people's perceptions, habits, etc.  I hope, somehow, that poor animal knows we cared about her.
