Put a halt to U.K. foxhunting

Published in METRO www.metro.us 5/16:

Regarding "Unhounded foxes thrive  in U.K. cities" (May 8): If it's true that, according to a survey, Londoners like having foxes around, they sure have a funny way of showing it.  The efforts to ban foxhunting there are always fought successfully, though foxhunting is one of the nastiest and most pointless types of hunting.  This tiny animal is heartlessly chased by savages on horses, and if their dogs find the fox, the 'humans' encourage the dogs to rip the fox to shreds.  There is no attempt to justify this cruelty by saying they eat the animal after he's dead.

As I understand England's government, the royals - the main foxhunt participants - are only titular heads with little real power, so why don't London's constituents demand a halt to this antiquated blight on their country?
