Art and Animal Rights at the Guggenheim

To the Editor:

Does the Guggenheim have a display of live humans fornicating? How about people forcibly restrained while goaded to fight? No, the museum will not degrade and harm humans; it is too “civilized.” But animals? That’s another story: Harm them, disrespect them, hold them up for scorn and humiliation. It’s all great art for the nouveau art connoisseurs to intellectualize while drinking champagne.

We are too P.C. to criticize artists: The vaunted “artiste” has a message. That’s more important than mere common decency.
