Ten years ago on an ice-covered night, a lonely stranger showed up at my door. He was a tuxedo cat who life had abandoned.
I gave him a warm and loving home that night. For the next ten years he sat over my shoulder on the back of my recliner where he remained as my protector and my most trusted friend.
I had to look into his eyes for the last time tonight to say good bye and I asked him to please wait for me when my time comes to leave this world.
I took this photo this morning a few hours before I had to say goodbye my friend.
This is where he rests today.
In the same backyard he used to lay in the grass for a snooze.
I have a solar light over him so when I look out of my window at night I can see his light shining, just like he shined in my life.
