IMPERIAL GINSENG PRODUCTS LTD., market leader in the $3
Billion (!) and growing, ginseng market announced on July 27th that it
has never experimented on animals nor used animal products in its own
consumer product line, nor will it ever use animals in research, AND it
OPPOSES ALL ANIMAL TESTING and research for consumer products.
Strong words from a new "friend" of the animal rights
movement! The announcement hit the PR Newswire around the world and has
been met with great satisfaction from this unsolicited statement of
support.
As a movement, we have never had enough corporate
friends. We need them and we need to support them, both as being
consumers of their products and becoming owners. We as a movement should
become shareholders in IMPERIAL GINSENG, which trades in the NASD
Bulletin Board under the symbol "IGPFF" (In Canada, under the Vancouver
Stock Exchange as "IGP"). This is an opportunity for us to influence
corporate policy. Right now, "IGPFF" is trading just above $1 per share
and historically trades up to the $5 per share level and above! Why buy
AOL or DELL at $100 and wait for them to go to $300? The answer is
obvious ...
Every time a company appears, who is on our side, and
whose economics fit our investment strategy, we should take the
opportunity to become owners of that company. We have had friends like
John Paul Mitchell Systems, Tom's of Maine, Aveda, Freeman Organics, The
Body Shop, and others who have supported both our beliefs and supported
us economically. We have the opportunity to exercise economic influence
on the marketplace. Research and social screening has been performed on
numerous companies, but most appropriate are the companies who actually
support us and the animals. IMPERIAL has announced similar positive
policies in regards to the environment and non-discriminatory hiring
practices.
IMPERIAL GINSENG has stated that while producing
health-oriented products, that they believe that part of their mission
is to help to harness economic power to create a socially just and
environmentally sustainable society, which does not infringe on the
rights of ANY of its members - INCLUDING ANIMALS! We applaud this bold
approach! We support all companies who take this approach and especially
publicly-traded companies whose stocks we can buy and in which we can
become part-owners. Hopefully, more companies will follow this
example!!!
IMPERIAL GINSENG PRODUCTS LTD., NASD Symbol "IGPFF," if
you have any questions, consult your broker or financial planner for
this company and insist that they provide you with more such
opportunities in companies who support animal rights.
