The Akron, Ohio, City Council is planning on spending
several hundred thousand dollars to capture and kill an estimated
2,000-3,500 cats and kittens this year alone. So far, public pressure on
them has prevented funding from being approved, but it's likely that
they will eventually get the funding in through the back door.
