Fellow Activists,
I have decided to postpone this years Compassion for
Animals Action Symposium until the fall or early next year. Sadly, there
has thus far been very low enrollment compared to registration in past
years. With the symposium only five weeks away, Im afraid the numbers for
this year will be too small to accomplish our program goals. I know this
is a disappointment to those who planned to attend, but I had to make the
decision before more attendees and speakers made travel plans, etc., and
before we invested further in pre-symposium expenses.
I cant pinpoint the reason for the lack of interest this
year, but I welcome feedback regarding your wishes for the next symposium.
Should the event be more centrally located? Was this years format not to
your liking? Do you prefer nationally known speakers over our own Florida
representatives? Please share your thoughts with me and Ill improve plans
for the next conference.
Thank you to the few people who did register. You will be
getting a refund in the mail ASAP. Dont forget to cancel your
registration at the Quality Inn or other places you were planning to stay.
To those who copied and distributed the symposium flyer,
please retrieve any copies you can (without substantial difficulty) and
please post this notice to any e-mail lists that promoted the conference.
I am very grateful for your support and assistance, and I
am truly sorry for the inconvenience this postponement will cause you
loyal activists.
Peace,
Chas Chiodo
