For Little Red
by Guila Manchester

Dear Lord, if there's a heaven
For Thy creatures,
Please make a special place
For Little Red.
He put up such a valiant fight
For living;
In spite of all,
His tiny foot still bled.

I hope I wasn't wrong
To try to help him.
I hope I didn't cause him
Added pain.
It seems as though
There has to be a reason.
His precious life
Should not have been in vain.

I'd like to try to be
A better person,
And work the harder
For Thy world, instead
Of wasting strength upon
The things I cannot change.
I'd like to do this much
For Little Red.
