Horse-Drawn Carriage Accident

Woman trampled in horse carriage in Britain

The BBC reports on December 1, 2008 -Woman trampled in horse carriage - A woman has been taken to hospital after being trampled in a horse carriage on a motorway. Ambulance crews were called to the westbound carriageway of the M54, between junctions one and two, near Wolverhampton earlier.

The woman, thought to be in her 30s, had suffered head and chest injuries, a suspected broken jaw and several broken ribs. She was taken to New Cross Hospital for treatment.

BBC NEWS - December 1, 2008 The report does not give details about what caused this incident. It is highly probably that the horse spooked. At 1500 to 2000 pounds, horses are unwitting weapons. As timid prey animals, they can spook at any thing and at any time.
