[Ed. Note: Go vegan...! Eating fish not only kills billions of individual fishes, fishing is destroying our oceans' ecosystems, and one-by-one the fishing industry can kill "non-targeted" species like it almost killed this seal.]

Life was slowly being drained from this yearling sea lion whose neck, head and mouth have fishing net wrapped tightly around them. The entanglement kept the sea lion from feeding.

With support from LA County Lifeguards, Marine Animal Rescue (MAR) successfully rescued the young sea lion. When the net was cut off, fortunately it had caused no injury to the sea lion.
