The hens were used as breeders to to provide more roosters to fight. All of the roosters were euthanized.

United Poultry Concerns is thrilled to share with you a few photos we took today as these hens were being unloaded into our predator-proof aviary yard where they will live happily for the rest of their lives.

Our peafowl couldn’t wait for them to come out of the carriers!

We are very grateful to Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center for making this adoption possible and for taking the cockfighters to court on felony charges.
