I have to wonder how our society would be different had Dr. King lived.
Would he have followed the teachings of Gandi which inspired him to
nonviolent social action and become vegetarian? Would he have become
vegan? What if he had advanced the idea of the end of slavery of all beings?
His wife, Coretta Scott King was vegan for the last ten years of her
life. Their son, Dexter Scott King, president of the Martin Luther King
Center for Nonviolent Social Change, has been vegan for over twenty years.
Dexter has said that vegetarianism was the logical extension of his father's
philosophy.
I have a dream.
