Following the controversial shooting of a deer in a residential neighborhood by an Oakland Police officer, IDA donated $1,500 so the city can purchase dart tranquilizer guns.

IDA President Dr. Elliot Katz made the presentation to the Oakland Public Safety Committee on May 11, 2010.
