[Ed. Note: We are always happy when anyone goes vegan; and we are happy when someone with "celebrity" status proclaims this publicly.]

I have been a vegan for almost two years now and the benefits have been tremendous. I have more stamina and it helps keep me in a positive state of mind. I didn't realize how weighed down I was when I ate meat. I never really felt 100 percent until I freed it from my diet. Now, I can't imagine going back to meat. I feel incredible.

Being a fan of boxing while growing up, I can vividly recall watching Iron Mike Tyson knock his opponents into next week—possibly further— within mere seconds after the start of the fight. Hopefully the former heavyweight champion can do the same to world of meat eating.

Tyson has joined forces with animal rights organization Last Chance for Animals to help promote veganism in West Hollywood, Calif. The champ's image, taken by celebrity photographer Christopher Ameruoso, appears on a billboard that shows the former pugilist kissing a dove with the words “Vegan” and “Love Animals Don’t Eat Them.”

"I am truly honored and grateful to be a part of this cause," said Tyson. “It's been a while since an organization has wanted me for anything and to be a part of something that benefits people and animals in such a positive way is a blessing."

And when asked how veganism has affected his life Tyson responded:

I have been a vegan for almost two years now and the benefits have been tremendous. I have more stamina and it helps keep me in a positive state of mind. I didn't realize how weighed down I was when I ate meat. I never really felt 100 percent until I freed it from my diet. Now, I can't imagine going back to meat. I feel incredible.

Years ago Mike Tyson was called “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” who would have thought decades later he would have lived up to that name in a much different but better way.

You can view Iron Mike’s billboard on Sunset Blvd. and Doheny Drive in West Hollywood, California.
