1. Wake Up!

Author and speaker Will Tuttle writes a fantastic piece on the tremendous devastating effects of the deeply ingrained dysfunctional practice of eating animal products. Will Tuttle highlights the urgency of change needed to save the planet and everyone in it. As it is, the consequences of exploiting animals range from environmental devastation to an unprecedented health crisis, causing much suffering, pain, fear and isolation. The solution? A vegan lifestyle that would bring healing, love, kindness, compassion, sustainability, spiritual fulfillment and peace throughout the Universe. To read the article please visit Time to Wake Up

What is it going to happen to God’s Creation if we don’t wake up and transcend into ethical human beings? When we cause misery, misery comes back to us. As stewards of God’s Creation we need to be “the salt and the light” of the world and show by our example that we care about our home, the Earth, and everything in it. Unless our lifestyle accords with our beliefs, we won’t be successful in making this world a peaceful and loving place.

2. This Week’s Famous Quote

"To a man whose mind is free there is something even more intolerable in the sufferings of animals than in the sufferings of man. For with the latter it is at least admitted that suffering is evil and that the man who causes it is a criminal. But thousands of animals are uselessly butchered every day without a shadow of remorse. If any man were to refer to it, he would be thought ridiculous. And that is the unpardonable crime."

~ Romain Rolland, author, Nobel Prize 1915

3. Al Gore Says To Eat Less Meat

Finally Al Gore has expressed their concern about the greenhouse gases that animal agriculture releases into the environment, contributing greatly to global warming. Moreover, Al Gore is urging skeptics to discuss global warming and look into the scientific evidence instead of dismissing it without any bases. Please visit Gore: Eat less meat to fight warming:

More people every day realize that animal agriculture has devastating effects on God’s Creation. Global warming should not be taken lightly as it affects every creature on the planet. Since animal agriculture contributes to global warming more than all transportation combined it only makes sense to transition to a plant-based diet as part of our choices as stewards of God’s Creation.

4. This Week’s Bible Verse

(RSV) Isaiah 1:11

What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the LORD; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of he-goats.

Our Creator delights when we offer our bodies as living sacrifices as opposed to the life and blood of creatures, who want to live and fear death as much as we do. Living a compassionate and loving life is the best way to honor God.

5. Time is Running Out

Animal products are not a very efficient way of feeding the world. Factory farming is inherently cruel, unhealthy and negative for the environment. Global warming, exploitation of natural resources, contamination, etc. are some of the consequences of animal agriculture.

With a world population of almost 7 billion people, transitioning to a plant-based diet is imperative; otherwise, much hardship is expected for the generations to come. From an increase in chronic diseases to widespread hunger, the price to pay for meat, eggs and dairy is too high. To read the article please visit Is it Time We Cut Down on Meat?:

Doesn't it seem un-Christian to support the dairy, egg and meat industry when undisputable evidence indicates that the animal agriculture industry is causing suffering and devastation in all of God's Creation? Is it possible that our taste buds trump our ethics and faith? I believe that we are all able to make mindful choices if we align our inner values and beliefs with our actions. Transitioning to a plant-based diet might be the best choice we can make for all of God's Creation.

6. This Week’s Video: Human Compassion

I have to say that this is one the best videos I’ve watched on the subject of compassion. David Coles shares with great insight and clarity, how the need for human compassion to embrace all living creatures is crucial if we are to survive as a species.
