1. The Top Worsts States in the U.S. for Farmed Animals

Virtually all farmed animals raised for food are abused and killed; however, these 5 states are the worst for farmed animals since these states make it very hard for animal advocates to expose the cruelty inflicted on animals: Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Utah and Kansas.

Please visit The 5 worst states to be a farm animal

Factory farming confines, mutilates, abuses and kills billions of God’s animals every year around the world and animal agriculture industry is doing everything they can, including passing Ag-gag laws, to keep consumers in the dark. This is why it’s imperative that we raise awareness about the plight of God’s farmed animals with our voices and example.

2. Famous Quote

Humanity’s true moral test, its fundamental test…consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect humankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.”
— Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, 1984

3. Lessons Learned While Helping Animals

Clare Druce, an animal activist in England who focused on the rescue of battery-caged hens, share with readers the many life lessons she learned while helping chickens.

Please visit 10 lessons I learned while fighting for the freedom of farmed chickens.

Helping those who are oppressed in turn helps us lean valuable lessons. Standing up and defending those who are victimized certainly makes us more compassionate and aware of our fellow beings’ suffering.

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Isaiah 11:6

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them.

Isaiah's prophecy of a peaceable kingdom helps us envision the world that we, advocates of God's Creation, are working tirelessly to create: a world where the God-given rights of all creatures are respected and honored; and where love, joy and peace rule.

5. Cows Are Amazing!

Cows are amazing animals with very rich-emotional lives that are portrayed as simple commodities by the animal agriculture industry because if people knew the reality of who cows are then they wouldn’t support their unnecessary exploitation and killing.

Learn about cows by visit 7 Fascinating Things You Never Knew About Cows.

Cows, like any other animal, are the product of God’s creativity and love. We are called to be good stewards of them, which entails recognizing that they are sentient beings who care about their lives as much as we care about ours.

6. This Week’s Video: John Robbins

John Robbins, author and activist, reminds us that during tough times we should not choose despair but instead compassionate and sustainable action.
